FIVE (5) RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SUCCESS AND POWER

FIVE (5) RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SUCCESS AND POWER

According to OXFORD dictionary, power was defined as the capacity or ability to direct or influence the behaviour of others or the course of event.
SUCCESS: it can be defined as the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. I would also love to share this definition of success I came across online ‘’success is the good or bad outcome of an undertaking’’.

             Below are the five (5) relationships between power and success;
-RISK: Risk is an unforeseen circumstances that we have to overcome, in order to gain power we must be ready to take risk, some people even give up their comfort zone to possess power and success, someone with power can use the power to influence people or some other factors to achieve success.

-LESS LEISURE TIME: Power, let’s take President Buhari as a case study, he now has less or no leisure time . An adage says ‘’to become successful, you have to sacrifice your leisure time for success.’’

-FEAR: One who possess power or success has definitely added fear to one of his/her problems, he/she becomes scared of losing the power or success and even worst of all the fear of the power and success leading to death.

-COMPETITION: One who possess power or has achieved success will be in competition with his rivals because the rivals will put in their best to overcome such person because to the rivals such person is a rival to them. For example GLO is trying their best to overthrow MTN in Nigeria and if MTN is not careful GLO might overthrow them.

-DELEGATION: One with power cannot carry out tasks himself he/she has to delegate the power being possessed to subordinates, Buhari can only give out road construction contracts to contractors, he cannot construct the road himself , Success on the other hand also requires delegation because a successful individual cannot be successful without the delegation of works to people to help him, a typical example is a football team, a COACH cannot win a football match without a team of skilled footballers.
